Meg Kapil, MA, CCC

Meg Kapil completed her counselling psychology degree at the University of Victoria in 2009 and achieved the Certified Clinical Counsellor (CCC) designation the same year. She brings a passion for increasing access to mental health and wellness supports and considerable experience addressing struggles with anxiety. Meg will share an effective approach to addressing anxiety that incorporates current neuroscience, developmental information, and a combination of cognitive, emotional, and physiological regulation strategies. Meg currently works at Camosun College, the University of Victoria, and in private practice.

Katie Campbell-Elsdon , MEd, RCC

Katie is mother to 3 children and wife to an amazing middle school teacher. Katie grew up surrounded by educators, which inspired her to become a teacher in 2009. While teaching, Katie's passion for the social emotional well being of children led her to pursue a Masters in Counselling at the University of Seattle. Since 2013, Katie has worked as a School Counsellor, serving many schools throughout Victoria. This past year, she earned her RCC certification and founded Heartwood Family Wellness, her private counselling practice.  She is passionate about helping families build meaningful connections.  She works to empower children and parents through mutual respect, empathy, and effective therapeutic practices.  Katie fosters a safe, secure space for families to share their hopes, challenges, and successes.

Kayleigh Erasmus, MA candidate

Kayleigh is a graduate student in the Counselling Psychology Program at the University of Victoria. Kayleigh is completing her internship working with children and youth, and has worked with Meg on previous projects focusing on self-regulation and ADHD. Kayleigh was intrigued and inspired by Meg's approach and is very excited to be on the team for Creating Calm.

Maria-Claire Clarke, MA candidate

Maria-Claire is a second-year graduate student in the Counselling Psychology program at UVIC. She received a Bachelor’s degree from SFU, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Counselling and Human Development. Maria-Claire is currently completing her internship at Child and Youth Mental Health where she completed her practicum previously. Maria-Claire has worked with children and youth in a variety of settings and is thrilled to be able to continue working as part of this team!
